Lake Wilson, Kansas
Traveling west on I-70 from Salina you would not expect to find anything but vast expanse's of prairie but if you journey just 5 miles north of exit 206 you will find one of Kansas's great lakes! Nestled in the Saline river valley is Lake Wilson. Wilson Lake, located on the Saline river, controls a drainage area of 1,917 square miles. The grassland drainage basin above Wilson makes it one of the clearest lake in Kansas. With 9,000 acres of water and 100 miles of shoreline, it has become one of the most popular recreation areas in central Kansas!

While Wilson has a noticeable lack of shade trees the beauty of the rock formations and clarity of the water more than make up for this lack. Bringing your own shade is a small price for the abundance of fishing, boating, camping, hiking that is available.

Kansas's eastern lakes can become quite crowded, this is usually not the case at Wilson. With 4 parks situated from mid-lake to the dam there's plenty of camping, boating and elbow room.

Lake Wilson Marina provides all your boat service needs. Boat ramps at Wilson are modern with plenty of room for parking. The State and Minooka park have fish cleaning stations second to none.
